French Pair Secession Fine Copper Brass Flower Vases Pots Art Nouveau Jugendstil
Art Nouveau, Jugendstil, Secessionist Designed Vases beautiful patina. There are no makers marks The design has been inspired by both floral French Art Nouveau, German Jugenstil and by linear Art Deco. It was the secessionists aim, through its use of the methods of mass production, to make artistically designed, contemporary Jugenstil objects of daily use such as candlesticks, ashtrays, lamps, beakers, vases, planters, jardinieres. Tea and coffee sets accessible to a broad selection of the public. These are a pair of Vases measuring 10 cms or 4 inches across and are 31.5cm high or 12 1/8th inches - an impressive size. They were made in the first quarter of the 20th century as decorative items and is lightly polished. There are some signs of use and wear as you would expect from items that are close to a hundred years old. On the top of one of the vases is slightly out of shape, and both feet have small dents in the bases. One of the handles hsa been reattached. The interiors have signs of use and wear and are marked. They are quite substantial pieces but is not heavy. The brass decoration is fimly fixed.
